Once you feel comfortable and have asked any questions you may have, we’ll begin the removal process.
After the first session, most people can expect some significant fading, especially outlines. It’s also important to note that differences in your tattoo will affect how the fading appears. You might see substantial fading in one portion of your tattoo and less in others. This variation is normal. Your laser technician understands tattoo makeup and chemistry to ensure the eventual fading of all kinds of ink.
After this first session, many clients feel a sense of relief, especially if they have a tattoo that brings up difficult memories or traumatic experiences. For others, it’s a sense of excitement. If the tattoo looks this faded after the first removal session, they can only imagine how it will look after completing the entire removal plan.

How many sessions will I need?
Most tattoos require multiple sessions. The number depends on factors such as ink colour, depth, age of the tattoo, and where it is on the body. Generally, 4 to 12 sessions are needed for full removal, some clients achieve adequate lightening in 1 to 3 sessions. The sessions can take between 10 and 30 minuets depending on the size of the tattoo.
How long should I wait between sessions?
Sessions are usually spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart to allow the skin to heal and the body to process the ink.
Can coloured tattoos be removed?
Yes. Pico laser technology is effective on black ink and many colours, although some pigments take longer to fade than others.
Does laser tattoo removal hurt?
Sensitivity varies from person to person. Generally, the process is rather uncomfortable, but not unbearable. Some liken it to the flick of an elastic band, or a small splash of hot oil. The treatments are extremely quick but you’re always welcome to let us know if you need a moment to recoup! We do not offer numbing for this treatment as generally it is not needed, but you are welcome to purchase and apply your own prior to arrival. This should be discussed at your patch test should you think it may be necessary. Treatments are supported by skin cooling to help reduce discomfort.

Will it leave a scar?
As with all our treatments, we pride ourselves on precision and strict adherence to protocols. When protocols are followed, and aftercare is followed to the letter, the risk of scarring is minimal. If there is pre-existing scarring, please note that this will remain - depending on the technique of your original tattoo artist, or how many times the tattoo has been worked on, there may be scarring already present, that isn’t visible through the ink.
When can I have the area re-worked?
We recommend a minimum of 10 weeks before having the area reworked, or longer if you have a history of hyper pigmentation, or are skin Fitzpatrick Scale 4+
